How much does one pay for the UGGliest boots on the planet?
200 dollars
I had absolutely no concept of how expensive these horrific boots are; no idea whatsoever. $200? To look ridiculous? I can help you do that for a tenth of the price.
Girls (and guys now! OMG.), get a grip! Save your money; I'm begging you.

I was in the Mountainlair restroom today with three people: a guy washing his hands, a guy using the urinal, and a guy in a stall.
What did all three of them have in common?
They were all on their phone.
Now, I don't have a problem with phones under most circumstances. I don't mind them in restaurants, elevators, PRTs, etc. If you'd talk face-to-face with someone where you're at, feel free to use your phone there. It doesn't bother me... Just please, don't use them in the restroom.
First off, you're not supposed to be talking in the men's room to begin with. If you shouldn't be talking face-to-face, don't talk on your phone. Secondly, the person on the other end probably doesn't want to talk to you. I know I have absolutely no desire to speak with someone taking a massive dump. It's very low on my priority list... And by calling me, you're forcing me into that situation. That's not cool... Not cool at all.
Joe.

But let's start out on a positive note: I voted for people who won! Never mind it was all in dumb local and state races that don't really matter; I'm taking what I can get. I guess my new claim will be that I've "never voted for a presidential or congressional candidate who has won." Doesn't quite flow as well as the last one, does it? You want hope? Keep dreaming. You want change? Put out your cup.
bailed out rescued. Those are good lessons to learn.
The problem with certain programs, though, is that, once started, even if we learn our lesson we cannot dissolve them. Social security is a perfect example. It's a completely flawed system, but if we got rid of it now, how many individuals would be left on the street? That's why Obama's health care plan worries me. Government sponsored health care has proven time and time again (See Canada, England, half of Europe, etc.) to fail miserably, but once you head in that direction, it's very difficult to reverse. Once people are depending on the government support, removing that support leaves them with nothing.
We'll wait and see how things play out, though. Hopefully I don't get sick any time soon...
P.S. - This is great.

Thankfully, it is almost time to put this election behind us. Two more days and we'll all be able to rest a little easier. (Except, of course, for the half of our population who will be "moving to Canada.") To make your election day a little easier, I've produced a little election primer. I've taken the big issues from the candidate's webpages (in no particular order), injected The People's Knowledge, and declared a winner. Let's see who comes out on top.
The Economy and Taxes
While my dream of a flat tax will probably never be reached, an economic policy of "Just leave it alone" needs to be employed. Banks are failing? Let them. Giving them money for messing up just doesn't make sense. Taxes shouldn't be a means of wealth redistribution, it should be a method of contributing to a country's core infrastructure.
Winner: McCain
Energy and the Environment
We have an energy problem. Should it be solved by subsidizing highly inefficient alternative energy industries? No. How about giving oil companies money? Nope. How about relying on tried and true methods, such as drilling for oil and the incredibly productive magic of nuclear fission? Absolutely. Oh, and taxing me for carbon emissions? Retarded.
Winner: McCain (barely - half point)
Foreign Policy and National Security
I'm an isolationist... Don't mess with people unless they mess with you or your friends first. I'm not sure what to think about either candidate here; they're both in a race to run away from President Bush, and since they don't know where they're running, I'm backin' Ack.
Winner: President Ackerman
Health Care
The thought that health care is a right blows my mind. It's great in principle - It's not like I want people to not have health care - but when it infringes on Bill Gate's right to his own property (his money), we've crossed a line. He shouldn't pay for me to see a doctor; that's my responsibility. Socialized medicine's lack of fairness isn't it's only problem, though; it seems that free health care, much like a free lunch, comes at a price. Long wait times and denied care don't sound much like hope to me... Although it is a change.
Winner: McCain
Veterans
If you put your life on the line to serve this country, this country should serve you back. Enough said.
Winner: Both
Immigration
Illegal immigration is just that: illegal. There's a legal pathway into this country; use it, or stay out.
Winner: McCain (Barely)
Education
The public education system is what offers such opportunity to all American youth. The problem is that it sucks. Major reform is necessary, and it should start by the release of ineffective teachers (Call me, I could name a few.), not just throwing money at the situation. Government funded college (Like the Promise) is going a little too far, though. Oh, and mandatory community service for students isn't called service learning; it's called slavery. It's wrong.
Winner: McCain
Seniors and Social Security
As much as I'd love social security to disappear, it's going to be sticking around for awhile, so we should probably fix it. I don't know anyone with the balls to do it right, though.
Winner: Neither
Final Score: McCain 5, Obama 1
Looks like we know who I voted for, and that my streak will probably continue... :-/
